First ship with Ukrainian grain left Odessa port

The first grain ship left the Ukrainian port and, according to the Turkish Defence Ministry, the cargo of corn is going to Lebanon, RIA Novosti reports

CNN Turk has confirmed the information. “The ship left the port of Odessa,” the TV channel said.

On July 22nd, representatives of Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the UN signed agreements on lifting restrictions on exports of Russian products and Ukrainian grain.

According to the UN Under-Secretary-General, Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Africa, Vera Songwe, this ‘food deal’ will make it possible to deliver 23m tonnes of Ukrainian grain to world markets.
