Expert shed light on root causes of escalation of conflict in Israel
The escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is the work of the United States – as stated by Aleksei Avdonin, an expert at the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies, in his talk with Alfa Radio
On the morning of October 7th, Israel was subjected to a rocket attack from the Gaza Strip, then Hamas fighters penetrated into the border areas in the south of the Jewish state. The military wing of the Palestinian movement announced the Flood of Al-Aqsa operation against Tel Aviv, and the Israel Defence Forces launched the Iron Swords operation against Hamas in Gaza.
“The root causes of this crisis lie in the fact that the United States realised that it could not achieve the desired result in Ukraine, and that its project had completely failed. The US did not expect that its plans would be thwarted by the Russian Federation as a result of the latter’s special military operation. At the moment, presidential elections are coming, and the entire political elite led by [US President Joe] Biden is not ready to lose power and give it to another group led by [ex-head of the White House Donald] Trump and corporate elites connected with the latter. Of course, the United States needed a victorious war. It could not be done in the Asia-Pacific region, since China is there, and it is dangerous. It is also hardly possible to do this in Europe: the example has shown that this will lead to total defeat. So this can be done in the classic conflict zone: the Middle East,” Mr. Avdonin said.
According to the expert, the United States wants to involve as many countries as possible in the conflict in the Middle East – ‘so that there is not only Israel against the Gaza Strip, but also Israel against Lebanon, Israel against Syria and other countries of the Middle East’. “We can see how the infrastructure of these states is being hit. The United States has redeployed its aircraft carriers and combat groups there for a reason. It is clear that such a war solves several problems for the US. This is primarily a clash of Israelis with the Arab world, which will be of a long-term nature. This means there will be a need for new weapons and military equipment that will be purchased from US defence corporations," he noted.
Against the background of global conflicts, the US political elites and financial groups led by the Federal Reserve System want to demonstrate that the Dollar and American debt obligations will allegedly continue to be reliable means to preserve and receive dividends from investments, and Mr. Avdonin explained, “Differently speaking, they say that there is a crisis all around, and everything is calm with them – so make investments. At the same time, the US external debt exceeds 124 percent of GDP since 2012, so actually the American financial debt model has not been provided with real goods, services, or assets since then. This is a typical financial pyramid scheme. In order to preserve this model, the United States is trying to plant crises all around and make sure that investors, large financial corporations and banks continue to invest money in its government bonds.”
