Expert: West not ready to give Zelenskyy security guarantees

If Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy does not win the next presidential elections, the West will not give him security guarantees. – as noted by political scientist Spiridon Kilinkarov in his talk with the Soloviev Live TV channel

The expert believes that Volodymyr Zelenskyy lives in illusions regarding his personal security guarantees from the West.

“Zelenskyy will do his dirty work under security guarantees. True, he does not understand one simple thing: he is not the first leader who works for the American government. Zelenskyy must realise that these guarantees turn into roadside dust at some point. Therefore, in this regard, he lives in some kind of illusions. Zelenskyy will do this dirty work, but I think they will not provide any guarantees of his personal safety. He will live in constant fear and horror,” said Spiridon Kilinkarov.

The expert recalled that Volodymyr Zelenskyy came to power on the rhetoric of peace.

“In the end, Zelenskyy plunged the country into a war that led to hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians being buried. He did not achieve any of the goals set by either NATO or the EU. It becomes obvious that these are absolutely unrealisable ideas. Sooner or later it’ll be necessary to return to the zero point. Only to this zero point will Ukraine return with lost territories and hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians whom Zelenskyy buried to implement an unknown idea,” Spiridon Kilinkarov noted.

“Moreover, lots of people have left and will not return to the country. There are also problems with demographics and economy... The picture, of course, is incredibly sad,” TV channel presenter Gia Saralidze added to the expert’s words.

The next presidential elections in Ukraine should take place on March 31st, 2024. The date (the last Sunday of March of the fifth year of the presidential term) is fixed in the Ukrainian Constitution and the Law On the Elections of the President of Ukraine.
