EU exported 4m tonnes of grain from Ukraine in August
The European Union exported 4 million tonnes of grain from Ukraine by land and river in August – as informed by European Commissioner for Transport Adina Valean, TASS reports
Exports of Ukrainian grain to the EU were organised in line with solidarity routes – by land and river corridors created at the initiative of the European Commission in the spring of 2022. Ms. Valean emphasised that this path became the only one for Ukrainian agricultural exports after the termination of the Black Sea grain deal.
According to the European Commissioner for Transport, from May 2022 to August 2023, 53m tonnes of agricultural products were exported from Ukraine via solidarity lines, including 48 million tonnes of grain worth 38bn Euros.
