“Under my leadership, joint tactical flight exercises are being held,” Andrei Lukyanovich said. “They involve units that are part of the aviation component of the regional group of troops (forces). The drills take place in two stages. All airfields and ranges of the Air Force and Air Defence of the Armed Forces of Belarus are engaged. The main goal of the exercises is to increase the operational compatibility of the aviation units of Belarus and Russia, which jointly carry out combat training tasks.”

The Commander of the Air Force and Air Defence of the Belarusian Armed Forces noted that a wide range of tasks are being performed during the exercises: starting with aerial reconnaissance, joint patrolling of the Belarusian border in the airspace and aviation control from an early warning aircraft, A-50 control. This aviation complex enables to increase the radar field almost to the entire depth of Belarus. Moreover, the tasks of landing tactical assault forces, transporting goods, air support, fighter cover and evacuating the wounded are being worked out.

“I want to note that modern aviation technology makes serious demands on both the flight and engineering staff. Joint drills enable us to share experience and raise the level of combat training. All this affects the strengthening of the Union State security,” Andrei Lukyanovich summed up.
