Britain seeks to train 50 thousand Ukrainian soldiers by late 2023

The British Defence Ministry said it intends to train half a hundred thousand Ukrainian troops by the end of 2023, TASS reports

UK Defence Secretary Grant Shapps said that F-16 fighter pilots are already being trained, “By the end of this year, we will have trained more than 50,000 Ukrainian recruits, despite the fact that training began long before the war.”

From 2015 to early 2022, 22,000 Ukrainian military personnel were trained in the UK as part of Operation Orbital. Shortly before the start of the special military operation, the programme was suspended, and already in the summer of the same year a new one was launched: Interflex.
