Belarusian rescuers train specialists in Zimbabwe

Teachers from the International Rescuers Training Centre of the Civil Protection University of the Emergencies Ministry of Belarus are training specialists from Zimbabwe’s civil protection authorities. The course is aimed at training operators of fire rescue equipment.

“Training takes place in the capital of Zimbabwe, Harare. Zimbabwe Police Commissioner General Tandabantu Godwin Matanga personally inspected the progress of the practical training and underlined the importance and relevance of the training for the country’s specialists. He also expressed interest in further co-operation and training of specialists in the field of operational-tactical block,” said official representative of the University of Civil Protection of the Emergencies Ministry Andrei Sadovsky. “This project was another step in strengthening international co-operation between the rescue departments of Belarus and Zimbabwe, and also confirmed the high professional level of Belarusian specialists in the field of rescue training.”

During the training, teachers from Belarus assisted the city’s rescue units in extinguishing a real fire that broke out in the Callans Furniture building, located in the business centre of Harare.
