“The hall houses an exhibition of Belarus’ regions, displaying over 70 subjects of the tourism industry, enabling the guests to learn about tourism novelties and taste national cuisine,” the diplomatic mission informed.

Minister-Counsellor of the Belarusian Embassy Darya Shmanai said at the presentation that in 2023, over 763 thousand Russian citizens visited Belarus. Last year, more than 20 agreements on tourism co-operation were signed with Russian regions.

“Simplicity and comfort of logistics are the most important conditions for the development of tourism. An agreement on mutual recognition of visas will soon come into force. Moreover, the two countries’ air carriers are also working to increase the number of direct flights. Today flights are already being operated to Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Kaluga, Nizhny Novgorod, Perm, Samara, Sochi, Ufa, Cherepovets. In addition, Belavia launched direct flights to Moscow and St. Petersburg from Gomel. Direct flights to Arkhangelsk and Vladivostok are also planned,” said Darya Shmanai.

The diplomat added that the Days of Belarusian Regions – currently taking place at Moscow’s VDNKh – provide an opportunity to get acquainted in detail with the tourist attractiveness of each of Belarus’ six regions. On the eve of the 80th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation from the Nazi invaders, Darya Shmanai underlined the importance of developing military-patriotic tourist routes.

The Minister-Counsellor invited representatives of Russian regions to take part in the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk International Festival of Arts and the Kupala Night Festival (Alexandria Gathers Friends).

It is reported that the Brest Regional Centre for Tourism and Local History for Children and Youth, the Ilva travel company, the sports and tourism departments of the Gomel and Vitebsk regional executive committees, as well as the Ozerny sanatorium, the Vodar agro-eco-estate, the Mogilevoblturist organisation, and the Minsk Information and Tourist Centre made presentations of their tourism opportunities during the event.

“As a result, co-operation agreements were signed,” the diplomatic mission informed.
