This was announced by the Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of Belarus, Sergei Shlychkov, BelTA reports

“The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus together with the Roscosmos State Corporation have developed proposals for promising space programmes Resurs-SG and Kosmodozor-SG. The Kosmodozor-SG programme will make it possible to develop the basic elements of systems for forecasting forest fires, their identification, spreading trends, damage assessments based on forest inventory and space monitoring data,” Sergei Shlychkov stated.

The scientific and technical programme Resurs-SG implies the development of elements of onboard systems and equipment, as well as composite materials and structures, which will increase the life of spacecraft in the future. This programme is almost ready. The responsible executors will be the Institute of Heat and Mass Transfer of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Russian Space Systems Research Institute.
