Belarus, Iran discuss liaisons in sports and tourism

Belarus’ Sports and Tourism Minister Sergei Kovalchuk and Iranian Ambassador to Belarus Alireza Sanei held a meeting to discuss topical issues of the development of bilateral co-operation in sports and tourism – as reported by the Sports and Tourism Ministry in its Telegram channel

“The parties agreed to expand the exchange of sports delegations between the countries and discussed the participation of the Iranian side in the Leisure 2024 exhibition, as well as Minsk-Tehran direct flights,” the sports department said in a statement.

Sergei Kovalchuk noted that the peoples of Belarus and Iran have developed warm and friendly relations, which facilitate active interaction across all areas. He also thanked the Iranian side for participating in the 2nd CIS Games.

The Sports and Tourism Ministry’s press service added that from February 2024, Belarusian tourists can enjoy visa-free visits to Iran for a period of up to two weeks.
