Belarus-Azerbaijan trade turnover growing

In 2021, the Belarus-Azerbaijan trade turnover of food products and agricultural raw materials increased by almost 20 percent against the 2020 figures – as informed by Belarus’ Agriculture and Food Ministry

The statistical data has been announced in connection with a meeting of Belarus’ Agriculture and Food Minister, Igor Brylo, with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Belarus, Ulvi Bakhshaliyev. It was reported that the sides discussed the prospects of bilateral co-operation between Belarus and Azerbaijan in the field of agriculture, also focusing their attention on mutual food supplies, co-operation in agricultural education and veterinary medicine, participation in exhibition and fairs.

"In 2021, our countries’ trade turnover of food products and agricultural raw materials stood at $41.6m (119.1 percent against 2020). Exports of goods made $34.6m (114.2 percent). In January-February 2022, the trade turnover of food products and agricultural raw materials between Belarus and Azerbaijan reached $5.7m, while exports accounted for $4.6m,” the statement reads.
