In February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recommended preventing Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in international competitions.

However, the federation insists on its position on the admission of tennis players, despite calls to follow the example of Wimbledon, which suspended athletes from Belarus and Russia last year.

It is known that the WTA and ATP allowed Russians and Belarusians to participate in tournaments in a neutral status.

“Players from Russia and Belarus can only participate in international tennis tournaments on an individual basis – without flags or country mentions, as will be the case at the Australian Open 2023,” the federation states.
