Address of the President of Belarus to people and Parliament to be screened live on March 31st: start at 11am

The Address of the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, to the Belarusian People and the National Assembly will take place on March 31st, the event will start at 11am. The Head of State’s speech can be watched live on all national TV channels, including satellite; the broadcast will be organised on the air of the Belarusian Radio and on the website of the President of the Republic of Belarus, as well as on YouTube channels of state media – as reported in the Belarusian leader’s press service.

A televised version of the Address will be screened by all national TV channels at 09pm.

The event, as previously reported, will be held in a wide format at the Palace of the Republic.

Among those invited are parliamentarians and delegations from the regions and the city of Minsk, senior officials of the country, members of the Government, heads of state bodies, the media, representatives of the diplomatic corps and international organisations, heads of religious confessions, parliamentarians of past convocations, representatives of the real sector of the economy, youth, representatives of civil society, and journalists. In total, over 2,500 people will take part in the event.

The President is expected to answer questions from those present.

Aleksandr Lukashenko announced the upcoming Address back in mid-February at a meeting with representatives of foreign and Belarusian media.

“We are preparing the Address absolutely frankly, there will be a reaction to all questions, and we will try to look a little ahead within the framework of this Address,” the Head of State noted.
