About 20 BSU scientific developments on show at CIIE

About twenty scientific developments of the Belarusian State University (BSU) are presented at China’s International Import Exhibition (CIIE) – as reported by the BSU press service

“The scientific, technical and innovative products and technologies of BSU are showcased at the 6th China International Import Exhibition, held in Shanghai from November 5th-10th,” the press service informed. “The university exhibits are included in the collective section of Belarus’ national exposition.”

The BSU developments include the anti-tumour drugs Cisplacel, Prospidelong and Temodex. The first is used to remove tumours in the head and neck area while Prospidelong and Temodex are hydrogel substances used for local chemotherapy of stomach and brain tumours, respectively.

“A series of veterinary biological products for the treatment and prevention of diseases of farm and domestic animals are also on show at the stand of the country’s leading university,” the press service noted. “The developments are unrivalled in the world and have a multifunctional effect. The drugs are characterised by antiviral, immunomodulating and antibacterial properties. Moreover, visitors to the exhibition will be able to get acquainted with drugs for protecting and stimulating plant growth, food additives, technologies for producing biodegradable packaging material and applying functional metal coatings, equipment for the production of polyurethane foam products, measuring instruments, etc.”

The China International Import Expo aims to attract goods and services to the region. Thematic sections include the automotive industry, high-tech equipment and IT, medical equipment and pharmaceuticals, as well as consumer goods, trade in services, food and agricultural products. Moreover, within the framework of the exhibition, business events and negotiations, seminars and conferences are planned. The event is organised by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the People’s Government of Shanghai.
