Xi Jinping said it’s necessary to continue strengthening co-operation between Russia and China
Chinese President Xi Jinping, during a meeting with Speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko in Beijing, said that Russia and China need to strengthen co-operation within the framework of multilateral mechanisms and protect the interests of developing countries, RIA Novosti reports
Xi Jinping said, “Parties should strengthen communication and interaction within multilateral mechanisms such as the SCO and BRICS, set the right direction for global governance reform, and protect the common interests of emerging market and developing countries.”
He also said that Russia and China have always had good dynamics of development, and now collaboration between the two countries continues to progress across various fields. According to the Chinese leader, the social basis for the friendship between the two states, passed down from generation to generation, has become stronger.
“Co-operation is an important part of Russian-Chinese relations. I hope that both sides will make joint efforts to implement an important consensus and <...> will guarantee the development of interaction between the two countries in various fields,” said the President of the People’s Republic of China.
