On the side-lines of the summit, the leaders of Belarus and Serbia held a short meeting ‘on their feet’ – as it is common for large-scale forums. Aleksandar Vucic shared some details of that conversation with Belarusian journalists later.

"We discussed our bilateral relations. I told him that I hope we will be able to organise his visit to Serbia next year. We are having elections in 15-16 days, and after them, next year, I hope we will be able to invite him and discuss all the main issues on the bilateral agenda," the Serbian President said.

As reported, Aleksandr Lukashenko appointed a new ambassador of Belarus to Serbia in November. Speaking about the two states’ co-operation and the work of the Belarusian diplomatic mission, the President noted that the situation should be seriously studied. "We need to understand the policy that Serbia pursues and wants to pursue with regard to Belarus,” he stressed. “If they want [to co-operate with Belarus], then there should be results in trade-economic terms. If Serbia wants to wag its tail, roughly speaking, and support European-American sanctions against Belarus, it’s up to it. Let them support these sanctions if they have forgotten the goodness with which we came to them.”
