Victory Parade on Moscow’s Red Square to be held in presence of the CIS leaders

The parade in honour of the 78th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War will be held on Red Square in Moscow, and its start is scheduled for 10am Moscow time, BelTA reports

The parade on Red Square will traditionally be hosted by Russian President Vladimir Putin. His press secretary Dmitry Peskov has informed that the CIS leaders are expected to attend it as guests.

As reported by TASS, the presidents of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, as well as the Prime Minister of Armenia have confirmed their presence.

It is planned that, after the parade, the leaders will lay wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexander Garden at the Kremlin Wall.

As previously reported, the President of Belarus arrived to Moscow on a working visit in the evening of May 8th on the eve of Victory Day.

Aleksandr Lukashenko his congratulated his fellow countrymen on Victory Day. “This holiday has become a symbol of the invincible will of the Belarusian people in the face of inhuman trials, the embodiment of national resistance to Nazism in any of its guises,” the congratulatory message reads. “The memory of the heroic deed of the generation of winners acts as a great unifying force through time – serving as a life guide for us, those did not witness the horrors of war and the hardships of post-war reconstruction.”

The Head of State is sure that the truth of Victory and the energy of creation help Belarusians be stronger, provide reliable protection and prosperity of their native land.
