The total amount of spending provided for by this budget will be higher than in 2022, when this figure was set at $1.52 trillion. Most of the funds – $858bn – will go to defence.

Washington is going to allocate $44.9bn for emergency support to Ukraine, as well as US allies in NATO. Part of the funds is intended for the training of the Ukrainian military and the replenishment of stocks of weapons transferred to Ukraine. At the same time, in the budget for this year, the total support for Kiev was provided at the level of $13.6bn, which is almost three times less than planned for next year.

In the near future, the draft federal budget will be considered by the House of Representatives of the US Congress. If approved, the document will go to US President Joe Biden for signature.
