US intelligence believes China could use TikTok to influence American elections

American intelligence claims that China can use TikTok to influence the course of the presidential elections that will be held in the US in November, TASS reports

When asked whether China could use TikTok for such purposes, US Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines noted, “We cannot rule out that the CCP [Chinese Communist Party] would use it.”

The Director of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Christopher Wray, essentially confirmed that he sees the TikTok social network as a threat to national security.

“I have been very clear about my views on TikTok and the national security concerns it raises. We are banning TikTok on all devices used by the FBI,” he said.
