UN Disarmament fellows told about Belarus’ approaches in this issue

Counsellor of the Permanent Mission of Belarus in Geneva, Aleksandr Pytalev, in his capacity as the Co-ordinator of the Subsidiary Body 5 of the Conference on Disarmament, held a briefing for the UN Disarmament fellows

According to the Permanent Mission, the Belarusian diplomat informed the audience about the approaches of Belarus to a number of important issues on the agenda of the conference, as well as the discussions held within the framework of the Subsidiary Body on new types and systems of weapons of mass destruction, radiological weapons, transparency and a comprehensive disarmament programme while sharing his experience in negotiating draft disarmament documents.

Within the framework of the event, an open exchange of views took place on the state of affairs in the field of disarmament and international security, progress in the work of various multilateral bodies, including the Conference on Disarmament.
