"I am glad to welcome everyone to the hospitable Minsk land. We are launching the first firewood chopping championship among journalists today,” Mr. Turchin addressed those present.

According to the Chairman of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, it is very symbolic that the championship takes place on November 7th: October Revolution Day. “Through this, we are paying tribute to the excellent traditions that have been developing in our country over the years. On the other hand, we are giving a start to new traditions. For some reason, I am convinced that this championship will further scale up and turn into another great tradition in our modern Belarus,” he said.

Mr. Turchin wished everyone a good mood, more smiles and victory to the strongest participants.

The first Belarusian firewood chopping championship among journalists and bloggers is being held today in the Minsk District, on the bank of the Vyacha water reservoir.
