The Head of the Marketing and Quality of Tourist Services Division of the Tourism Department of the Ministry of Sports and Tourism of Belarus, Irina Meigul, stressed that the dynamic development of Belarusian-Chinese political, trade, and economic relations is primarily due to the common principles and the coincidence of views on the most important issues of the world agenda, “Thanks to the efforts of both countries, the Belarusian-Chinese relations are dynamically developing and rising to a new level, mutual trust is strengthening, and practical collaboration is being carried out in all areas. Co-operation with the People's Republic of China in tourism is one of the priorities in the Republic of Belarus.”

The Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of Hainan Province, Liu Cheng, noted that Russian-speaking tourists love Hainan very much and come there frequently, “The purpose of today's event is to accelerate and strengthen co-operation in tourism, transportation, culture, etc. The launch of direct flights will facilitate the movement of citizens of our countries.”

According to Liu Cheng, Hainan implements a visa-free entry policy for citizens of 59 countries.

“Working jointly, we want to simplify entry for Belarusians as well, so we need to launch the flight as soon as possible. In 2019, there were 104 international flights to Hainan Island, 20 of them from Russian-speaking countries, however, there were no flights from Belarus. In 2024, we plan to launch 92 flights. I sincerely hope that we will be able to do this. Another important issue is to work together to improve the service of tourists from our countries: guides, catering, accommodation, and so on,” Liu Cheng stated.
