The survey covered ten countries: Germany, France, Greece, Italy, Poland, Great Britain, Moldova, Portugal, Romania and Serbia.

“The European part of the survey, conducted with the participation of 10,000 respondents from ten countries (Germany, France, Greece, Italy, Poland, United Kingdom, Moldova, Portugal, Romania and Serbia) showed that 29 percent of them say they are experiencing financial difficulties,” survey authors noted.

In Greece and Moldova, this figure is reported to be as high as 49 percent and 46 percent respectively.

Due to the drop in purchasing power, at least a third of Europeans regularly restrict their diet. Thus, 38 percent of respondents no longer eat three meals a day, while 39 percent deny themselves meat, according to the survey.

The poll was conducted online from June 7th-27th. The statistical error is not specified.
