Over 510 companies, 70 expositions across 15,000 square metres: what was demonstrated and discussed at the INNOPROM. Belarus international exhibition

From September 29th to October 1st, Minsk became the industrial capital of the EAEU. The INNOPROM. Belarus international exhibition took place at the BELEXPO exhibition centre. This is a key event for showcasing technologies, developing co-operation and strengthening business ties between enterprises. The exhibition, previously held in Yekaterinburg, has become Russia’s main industrial forum over the years. Now, after a decade and a half, Belarus has been granted the right to hold this large-scale exhibition, which is crucial for industrial co-operation within the Union State and the entire Eurasian Economic Union. What visitors to the event and the business community were able to see is in our review.

What was shown

Leading domestic enterprises — including BELAZ, MAZ, Atlant, Integral, Horizont, residents of the Minsk City Technopark, BKM Holding and Rontek Machine Tools — participated in the exhibition with stands from the Belarusian side. The companies demonstrated their capabilities, advanced achievements in the field of production and digital technologies, new materials and services for industry.
Belkommunmash presented key developments in the field of electric transport and showed the machinery that already operates in 80 cities in 12 countries, including the T811 low-floor tram. Models of transport were also shown at the exhibition — for example, the Vitovt articulated electric bus, which is capable of travelling up to 240 kilometres without recharging. The electric truck, which can carry up to 10 tonnes, also attracted public attention.
Minsk Tractor Works showcased several units of machinery at the INNOPROM. Belarus international industrial exhibition. The 1222.3 tractor, awarded the State Quality Mark, was installed on the site, which was located inside the exhibition centre. The world’s most powerful wheeled tractor in the classic layout, BELARUS 5425, as well as models 82.3, 1523, 2023, 3522 and the BELARUS TL-120 forestry tractor were unveiled on the open-air site.
Minsk Automobile Plant demonstrated eight of its advanced developments. The MAZ-54A02N truck tractor, which is equipped with a Euro-5 gas engine running on liquefied natural gas, with a power of 420hp, attracted particular attention from visitors. The gas theme of the Minsk-based enterprise was complemented by a large-class MAZ 303948 bus. With at least 28 seats, the passenger capacity is from 67 to 76 people, allowing for comfortable passenger transportation even during peak hours.

Our neighbours also showcased a wide range of new products. Among the major Russian participants were 1C, SMK, MMK, Poliplast, Rostec, Natsprojectstroy, and NAMI. Furthermore, cutting-edge developments were displayed at the stands of collective expositions from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Krasnodar Region, the Republic of Bashkortostan, Ryazan, Novosibirsk, Ulyanovsk, Tomsk, Yaroslavl and Tula regions. In total, 23 Russian regions presented their achievements.
The Rosatom state atomic energy corporation acted as the general partner of the INNOPROM. Belarus international industrial exhibition. Its stand featured high-tech solutions in seven areas — from nuclear energy to robotics and additive technologies.
In the aviation zone, a model of the TU-214 modern medium-range aircraft was displayed, with plans to increase its production to 20 units per year.
In the agricultural sector, the first Russian-certified S-80 Agro agricultural drone for applying fertilisers was presented. The Merlin-VR complex is designed for long-term monitoring of territories for the benefit of the energy sector, construction, and the Emergencies Ministry.
In the medical section, one could see the Zenit modern binocular colposcope with 3D visualisation for diagnostics in gynaecology.
Particular attention was paid to joint Russian–Belarusian initiatives. The Union State’s Engineering Automated Workstation platform, which unites Russian and Belarusian developments for design, is becoming an essential tool for the digitalisation of the process of creating new equipment and is used by such large companies as BELAZ and TMH. The symbol of co-operation between the two countries is the 303T large-class trolleybus, manufactured on the basis of a MAZ body with a modern autonomous driving system.

Sustainable growth through import substitution and technological sovereignty

Honoured guests at the exhibition were participants in the meeting of the CIS Heads of Government Council. They eagerly familiarised themselves with the showcased innovations and did not miss the opportunity to snap a joint photo beside the central exhibit — the world’s largest mining dump truck, BELAZ-75710, with a payload of 450 tonnes.
On the margins of the INNOPROM. Belarus exhibition, under the chairmanship of Belarus’ Industry Minister Andrei Kuznetsov, the 7th meeting of the Eurasian Economic Union Council on Industrial Policy took place. Among its participants were ministers from key sectors of the economy not only from EAEU member states but also from observer countries.
“Belarus has, for the first time, acted as the host of such a high-level meeting, which underscores the trust placed in our country and its contribution to Eurasian integration. This event symbolises the strengthening of partnerships and opens up new opportunities for co-operation in the heart of Europe,” Andrei Kuznetsov told the participants.
