Szijjarto urged NATO to avoid direct participation in Ukrainian conflict

The Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Peter Szijjarto, noted that the North Atlantic Alliance should do everything to prevent a direct confrontation with Russia, CNN reports

Mr. Szijjarto recalled that an agreement had been reached in NATO that the alliance would not be a participant in the conflict in Ukraine.

"We must do everything to prevent this and not enter into a direct confrontation with the Russian Federation. We adhere to this decision, and I hope it will be respected in the future. If NATO is directly involved in this conflict, it will create the risk of a third world war," the Hungarian Foreign Minister stressed.
