Stoltenberg: NATO is arming Ukraine to create more advantageous positions in negotiations

NATO member countries are supplying weapons to Ukraine in order for the latter to have a more advantageous position in negotiations with Russia – as stated by the alliance’s Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, RIA Novosti reports

Speaking at a press conference at the NATO Summit in Vilnius, Mr. Stoltenberg noted, “The more military support we provide to Ukraine,… the stronger their hand will be at the negotiating table.”

Earlier, the NATO Secretary General said that the leaders of the alliance countries had agreed to provide a package of long-term support to Ukraine. At the same time, there is no question of inviting the state to the block yet.
