Sports and Tourism Ministry representative comments on figures of Belarus’ visa-free regime

The State Border Committee of Belarus announced the results of visa-free entry for Western neighbours in 2023 and summarised the data for the entire period of operation of this travel procedure. Thus, in 2023 and a couple of days in 2024, more than 416,400 foreigners from the EU visited Belarus: over 247,400 citizens of Lithuania, 126,000 citizens and non-citizens of Latvia, as well as over 42,900 citizens of Poland. In total, since the beginning of the visa-free regime, the total number of guests from these countries has exceeded 803,600 people.

Director of the Tourism Department at the Sports and Tourism Ministry Irina Voronovich noted, “This suggests that a strong interest in visiting our country – despite obstacles from the leadership of neighbouring states – remains. It is pleasing that this entry procedure for neighbours has been extended until 2024. Thus, Belarus once again demonstrates its openness towards interaction, its desire to preserve established ties between compatriots and their relatives and friends, as well as its friendliness, underlining the value and necessity of interpersonal communication in our time.”
