Sergeyenko presented passports to schoolchildren: Constitution forms basis for Belarusian state’s functioning
The Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, Igor Sergeyenko, has taken part in an event dedicated to We Are Citizens of Belarus! campaign, presenting passports to 14-year-old boys and girls – winners of competitions, contests and Olympiads, gifted young people in the field of culture, science and social activities – on the eve of Constitution Day
Addressing the young people, Mr. Sergeyenko noted, “The Basic Law of our country embodies our past, our historical traditions and our spiritual values, while laying the legal foundations for the development and functioning of our state. The entire legislative framework of our country is being formed in various areas of activity on the basis of the Constitution.”
The Chairman of the House of Representatives acquainted the young people and their parents with the history of the Government House, and also informed on the activities of the deputy corps. As Mr. Sergeyenko noted, the MPs in power pass laws in accordance with the Constitution, and the country’s life is based on them.
