"I can only say thank you; perhaps this won't be understood in the West, but tonight I particularly feel it's important to stand up for Serbia and thank the Russian intelligence, who had this information and shared it with us. And then, we shared it with everyone else. And everyone else was saying, 'Well, this is Russian disinformation, spreading fake news’,” Ms. Brnabic said yesterday.

Supporters of the Serbia against Violence opposition bloc, who disagree with the results of the December 17th elections, occupied the steps in front of the Belgrade administration building and blocked the neighbouring street. The protesters broke windows and threw pieces of paving stones at the doors of the building, trying to break inside. The police were forced to spray tear gas.

Late the night before, the police dispersed the protesters within a few minutes, cleared the square and set up a cordon. It is reported that two police officers were seriously injured at the protests, and more than 35 protesters were detained.
