Russian Professor: Belarus may become new player in African market

The process of France's exodus from Africa continues, and the vacant place will not remain such for long – as noted by the Professor of the St. Petersburg State University’s International Relations Faculty, Nikolai Mezhevich, in his talk with the Belarus 1 TV channel as he commented on the Belarusian President’s visit to Equatorial Guinea

The Russian expert noted, “Despite the present competition, we understand that some countries – for example, France – are leaving Africa. Whether French like it or not, the process of their country’s exodus from Africa continues. Meanwhile, the vacant place will not remain such for a long time, and the Republic of Belarus – alone or in co-operation with Russia – will perhaps become a new player in the markets of African countries. I think our officials and businessmen are also thinking about this, I am almost sure of it.”
