Russian MFA stated components of bioweapons were developed in Ukraine
Deputy Director of the Department for Nonproliferation and Arms Control of the Russian Foreign Ministry Konstantin Vorontsov said that Ukraine was developing components of biological weapons with the support of the United States in close proximity to Russian territory, TASS reports
Konstantin Vorontsov said that the facts of the implementation of the military-biological programme in Ukraine with the support of the Pentagon ‘require the closest attention’, “An analysis of projects carried out in Ukrainian labs enables us to conclude that the development of biological weapons components was carried out in the immediate vicinity of Russian territory.”
He also recalled that all of Russia’s questions to the US and Ukraine were unanswered and currently remain open.
In mid-April 2023, a Russian parliamentary commission presented an investigative report on the work of US biolabs in Ukraine. According to it, the Pentagon’s military-biological programme has become large-scale in recent years and is being implemented under the guise of anti-terrorism projects and activities permitted by the Biological Weapons Convention.
