Russia shared with UN photographic evidence of Ukraine’s shelling of Zaporozhye NPP

The Russian Federation has shared photo evidence of Ukraine’s attacks against the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant with the United Nations Security Council and General Assembly – as stated by the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Vassily Nebenzia, TASS reports

“I want to show you photos of the destruction on the territory of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant as a result of shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We have a whole collection of such photographic evidence, we distributed these photos this morning as official documents of the Security Council and the UN General Assembly,” Nebenzia said, showing several photos taken at Zaporozhye NPP.

In a letter addressed to UN Secretary-General António Guterres, Chairman of the Security Council for August and Permanent Representative of China Zhang Jun, and Head of the 76th session of the General Assembly Abdulla Shahid, attention is drawn to the presentation of the Russian Defence Ministry in connection with the shelling of the Zaporozhye NPP by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on August 20th. “I would be grateful if these were circulated as an official document of the Security Council and the General Assembly,” the Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN said in a letter.

During the meeting Vassily Nebenzia also listed the shelling of the Zaporozhye NPP committed by Ukraine in recent days.
