Russia will soon have new weapons at its disposal – as stated by Russian leader Vladimir Putin, RIA Novosti reports
At a press conference following the results of the CIS summit in Tajikistan, the President of Russia announced, “We are on the final stage, and I think we will have the opportunity in the near future to break some news about a new weapon that we announced some time ago.” He added that the tests of the latest weapons are proceeding successfully.
Commenting on the plans of a number of countries to conduct nuclear tests, Vladimir Putin stressed that Russia would respond in kind, and the novelty of Russian deterrence is higher than that of other states.
The Russian leader noted that the US rejection of the proposal dealing with the NEW Start treaty would not be critical for Russia, and Moscow is ready to negotiate with Washington on the issues of arms deterrence.
