Poland announced plans to expand the country’s army to seven divisions
The Polish authorities are considering the option of creating an additional seventh division in the structure of the country’s army – as noted by the leader of the ruling Law and Justice party in Poland, Deputy Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski, TASS reports
Kaczynski did not disclose details, but noted, “Our army, which previously consisted of three divisions, will have six. Over time, there will probably still be a reserve division. This is also a division, but in a slightly different composition.”
He shared his opinion that the army of Poland will be the strongest land army in Europe. According to Kaczynski, it will become the foundation for the defence of the NATO entire eastern flank.
The current plan for the development of the Polish Armed Forces implies their expansion to six divisions, as well as an increase in the size of the army to 300,000 troops.
