Petrovsky: ensuring security and economic development is key priority for Belarus

Preserving the sovereignty of Belarus and increasing it, ensuring the country’s economic development and its security – these are the priorities announced by political scientist Piotr Petrovsky during his talk with ONT TV channel

The political expert noted, “It is very important for us today to preserve and increase our sovereignty while ensuring the security and economic development of the country. We’ll be able to do this in the world when it is divided into blocks, only when we determine a clear priority and will implement it.”

Continuing the topic, the political analyst reminded that during the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting in Bishkek, the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, proposed holding a joint summit of the EAEU, SCO and BRICS.

“This idea of the President of Belarus to create a platform for the EAEU, SCO and BRICS is very important for our export-oriented economy and security system. Today we must influence the emerging new architecture of the collective East and play not the last violin there. Yes, we are 9.5 million citizens, but there are examples in the EU and NATO: Holland, Belgium... They are also small countries, but they are well included [in the work of associations],” Piotr Petrovsky drew attention.
