Pentagon: US sending new $2.1bn weapons package to Ukraine
The United States plans to supply Ukraine with two HAWK anti-aircraft missile systems, ammunition for HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems and other weapons as part of another $2.175bn military aid package – as follows from the Pentagon statement, RIA Novosti reports
According to the document, the new military assistance package includes additional ammunition for the HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, additional 155mm artillery and 120mm mortar shells, 190 heavy machine guns, 181 mine-protected vehicles, 250 Javelin anti-tank systems, 2,000 anti-tank missiles and equipment for cold weather.
Moreover, Washington intends to transfer two HAWK air defence systems, anti-aircraft ammunition, air defence systems maintenance equipment, air surveillance radars, Puma unmanned aerial vehicles, precision-guided missiles, as well as medicines and equipment to Kiev.
