Parkhomchik: high-tech goods account for 4.4% in total exports – the best result

Over the first nine months of 2023, exports of goods and services totalled 104.8 percent against the corresponding period in 2022, which is ahead of the established target for this period – 103.8 percent – as noted by Belarus’ Deputy PM Piotr Parkhomchik during his report On Ensuring Sustainable Operation of the Industrial Complex in 2023 and the Progress of Implementation of Import-Substitution Projects at a joint meeting of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic

The Deputy PM underlined, “The balance of foreign trade in goods and services was positive. The growth rate of exports of goods remains high: 107.8 percent. In physical terms, the export of washing machines quadrupled, that of passenger cars almost tripled, export supplies of TV sets and monitors rose 2.2-fold, and petroleum products exports doubled.”

Moreover, Piotr Parkhomchik noted that since 2020, the share of high-tech goods in total exports has been growing.

“In January-September 2023, it reached 4.4 percent,” said the Deputy Prime Minister. “This is the best indicator. In previous years, it did not exceed 3-3.5 percent.”
