Orban: Hungary can prevent Ukraine from joining EU 75 times
Hungary did not stop the member states from agreeing to start negotiations with the European Union on Ukraine's accession, because it believes that it will have another 75 chances to prevent this process, RIA Novosti reports
Speaking with the Kossuth radio, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban stressed, “The decisive argument was that Hungary does not lose anything, given that 27 parliaments, including the Hungarian one, should have the final say on Ukraine's membership. So if we do not want Ukraine to become a member of the EU, then the Hungarian Parliament will vote against it," he said.
Viktor Orban claims that ‘this is a very long process until it comes to the parliaments’. “There will be about 75 cases when the Hungarian Government will be able to stop this process,” he explained.
