Opinion: new development centres being formed in the world, and Belarus already part of them

Thanks to the decisions of the Government, Belarus is integrated into new development centres – as noted by the Chairperson of the Standing Commission of Belarus’ Council of the Republic on Foreign Affairs and National Security, Sergei Rachkov, in his talk with the ONT TV channel

According to the politician, the recent statements of Narendra Modi and Xi Jinping make it clear that not only new centres of power are being formed in the world, but also development centres. “Belarus, thanks to its President’s strategic thinking, is already part of this development. I am here talking about the country’s co-operation with China. Even more than two decades ago, Aleksandr Lukashenko clearly spoke about China’s prospects, and he has turned out to be right – as always. This is one of the most promising, priority and strategic partners of Belarus now. However, it should be noted that Belarus is also progressively developing its relations with India,” he explained.

Mr. Rachkov added that Belarus continues to develop and strengthen its alliance with Russia, which remains the most important one for the republic, “Russia is one of the largest and richest countries in the world, and Belarus is actively developing economic integration with it – which will ensure high rates of socio-economic development of our country now and in the future. Therefore, in my opinion, the leadership of Belarus made the right decisions many years ago, which enabled our state to be integrated into these new development centres.”
