Nebenzia: Russia's strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure are response to supply of Western weapons to Kiev
The strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure facilities became Moscow's response to numerous deliveries of Western weapons to Kiev – as stated by the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, Vassily Nebenzia, at the UN Security Council meeting, RIA Novosti reports
Mr. Nebenzia stressed that such a reaction from Moscow was also caused by ‘reckless calls from Kiev to win a military victory over Russia’. He recalled that the special operation will not be completed until the Russian Federation reaches its goals. One of them is undermining the combat capability of the Ukrainian army, which threatens the security and territorial integrity of Russia.
The diplomat added that Kiev and Moscow will not be able to start peace talks until the Ukrainian side ‘takes a realistic position’. “In the meantime, what we hear from Mr. Zelenskyy and his associates is in no way a readiness for peace, but simply the language of reckless ultimatums," he stressed.
