Nauseda: 3,000+ NATO troops deployed in Lithuania

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda said that there are more than three thousand NATO troops in the country, RIA Novosti reports

Mr. Nauseda noted that Lithuania has come a long way in 20 years in NATO. According to him, more than three thousand soldiers of the alliance are currently deployed in the country. They are engaged into various activities on co-operation, security and defence.

The Lithuanian President added that the country annually conducts NATO military exercises for thousands of soldiers, and Lithuania has common defence plans and capabilities to protect the allies.

Mr. Nauseda stated that Lithuania is currently ‘preparing for universal defence’, though being ‘as safe as never before’.
