The Council meeting was held in Brussels at the ambassadorial level.

The document does not contain information about new arms shipments. There is also no data on how much financial resources will be sent to Kiev.

"Allies made clear that they will continue to provide Ukraine with major military, economic and humanitarian assistance, and many Allies outlined plans to provide billions of Euros of further capabilities in 2024," the statement reads. It details the previously given promises that NATO countries will purchase a thousand Patriot missiles to strengthen their and Ukrainian air defence systems, that Germany has already transferred Patriot and Skynex systems, ammunition for IRIS-T air defence systems to Kiev, and that the United Kingdom is supplying Kiev with 200 missiles for air defence systems.

Speaking about the need to activate the Ukrainian air defence system and readiness to transfer more weapons to Kiev, NATO countries blamed Russian strikes on the territory of Ukraine, which, according to the alliance, are allegedly ‘carried out using ballistic missiles from North Korea and drones from Iran’.

The meeting took place behind closed doors at the NATO headquarters in Brussels. It was organised at the request of the Ukrainian side. Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, the Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, and Deputy Interior Minister Oleksii Serhieiev participated via videoconference.
