Military expert: struggle for power in Poland will negatively affect its army

Considering the internal problems of Poland after the government of Donald Tusk came to power, a very important question arises: how will its relations with Belarus develop in the near future, especially in the border areas? We well remember how, before the elections, Polish helicopters began to violate the Belarusian border, but today it is still relatively calm. Meanwhile, this is not because official Warsaw has taken a course towards strengthening friendship with our country, since the Polish authorities’ position has not changed in this regard. According to military expert Igor Chibisov, the whole reason is internal problems in the Polish army.

“It’s no secret that the Law and Justice Party (PiS) placed its own people in the troops and even created new structures specially for them. For example, the formation of Eastern Poland’s territorial defence is about twenty new brigades and ten border battalions. Just imagine how many new military positions this means! All these people, who in 8 years had risen to the ranks of general in new positions, personally owed their careers to Duda and Kaczynski. In the event of a military conflict, such a situation would be to Poland’s advantage, but since the government changed, this situation began to act as opposition to the new PM. But we it’s necessary to understand that, to put it mildly, no sane government will interact with disloyal generals. Therefore, the Polish army will be subject to new lustrations [screening of officials], which will negatively affect its combat readiness,” explains Igor Chibisov.
