Medvedev: Ukraine’s refusal from NATO membership is no longer enough to achieve peace

Ukraine’s refusal to participate in the North Atlantic Alliance is now a necessary, but not sufficient condition for resolving the conflict, since Russia needs security guarantees – as stated by Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, TASS reports

Medvedev made this statement in an interview with the French TV channel LCI, “Refusal to participate in the North Atlantic Alliance is now a necessary, but not sufficient condition for achieving peace. It is necessary to work out the guarantees. As soon as these guarantees are worked out, put into an agreement, sealed by all parties, this will already be a sufficient condition to stop the operation, of course, when its goals are achieved,” he explained.
