Lukashenko, Putin talked over phone

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has talked over phone with President of Russia Vladimir Putin today, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

The heads of state exchanged views on the situation in the region and the prospects for its development.

Economic issues and the implementation of economic and security agreements reached in Minsk during the recent official visit of the Russian leader were also discussed.

In addition, the presidents discussed defence and security issues in general.

Another topic on the agenda is joint work and areas of co-operation abroad, beyond the Union State.

The Belarusian and Russian leaders agreed on a schedule for further contacts as well.

Aleksandr Lukashenko also congratulated Vladimir Putin on Russia Day.
