Lukashenko: we did everything, enabling our children to surpass our successes, now it’s time for new generations to act

The Constitution of Belarus gives an opportunity to live with dignity, develop, feel safe, and realise the most daring plans and undertakings in our native land – as stated by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, during today’s meeting marking the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus

The Head of State noted that the history of independent Belarus began exactly thirty years ago, and – approaching this milestone date – we look back at the path we have covered in order to step more confidently into the future, “It is very important to see real and concrete results of the decisions we make. It’s even more important to see prospects. Our Constitution gives an opportunity to live with dignity, develop, feel safe, and realise the most daring plans and undertakings in our native land. This is how it should be in a modern, truly democratic country. Most importantly, we did everything, enabling our children to surpass these achievements and successes. We will continue to help them. But now it’s time for new generations to act.”

The President shared his personal feelings, “Despite today’s difficulties and all the ups and downs, I have good reason to look confidently into the future. This confidence is inspired by our friendly work on the latest constitutional changes, our recent active election campaign, as well as our clear-headed perception of global political upheavals and military conflicts.”

Addressing the participants of the event, the Belarusian leader noted that it is necessary to continue a more substantive conversation about the new tasks that time poses nowadays, “One way or another, they all relate to the issues of preserving our values, cultural and spiritual priorities, determining the goals of the state’s development in the conditions of new geopolitical risks. We will do this during the Belarusian People’s Congress, formed in accordance with the updated Constitution of the Republic of Belarus. In short, we have a lot to do.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko invited those who stood at the origins of the creation of sovereign Belarus, as well as active participants in the political process, to assess the stage they have passed and share their vision of our country’s future, “This could be the beginning of a big conversation, which can be continued at the Belarusian People’s Congress.”
