Today there is everything for peace talks in Ukraine – as noted by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko during a meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Moscow, BelTA reports

“I absolutely support the position of the current Russian leadership and your position on the peace process in this conflict. Today there is everything to sit down and negotiate,” Aleksandr Lukashenko is convinced. “They don’t want to and it’s clear why. If those overseas want to talk about peace, this voice will be heard in Ukraine.”

“Therefore, Ukrainians, especially the population, should know that this does not depend on us. Roughly speaking, the ball is in their court,” the President added.

The Head of State recalled how the peace talks began, with three rounds taking place in Belarus, before moving to Istanbul for the fourth round. Both countries came to certain agreements, drafting a final document, but the negotiations were broken down.

“They arrived and ordered to fight until the last Ukrainian,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

“Therefore, in this case, I absolutely support the peace process, which Russia has never abandoned, including today. If we can play any role in this, you know our capabilities. We will always be close and will act in the same wave with you,” the Belarusian leader assured.

As reported, during the negotiations, Vladimir Putin said Russia is ready for constructive talks, but there can be no imposing of the positions that are not based on reality.
