Lukashenko supported proposal to extend visa-free regime for residents of Lithuania, Latvia and Poland for 2023

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, supported the proposal of the Council of Ministers and the Foreign Ministry to extend the visa-free entry regime for Lithuania, Latvia and Poland for 2023 – as reported in the Belarusian leader’s press service

From April 15th, 2022, visa-free travel was introduced for citizens of Lithuania and Latvia, as well as persons with the status of a non-citizen of Latvia, from July 1st, 2022 – for citizens of Poland. The validity of the relevant order of entry is provided until the end of this year.

During the period of the visa-free regime, almost 370,000 EU citizens visited Belarus (citizens of Lithuania account for over 70 percent, Latvia – about 20 percent, and Poland – 10 percent).

In confirmation of the openness of our country, focus on good neighbourliness and strengthening interethnic ties, a decision was made to extend the visa-free regime. Citizens of Lithuania, Latvia and Poland will continue to be able to come to the Republic of Belarus without obstacles, meet with relatives, visit burial places, receive medical and other services.
