The Director General of the Scientific and Practical Centre of the National Academy of Sciences for Arable Farming, Fiodor Privalov, reported on how the harvesting campaign is progressing, also speaking of the agriculture in general. In particular, he stressed the need for more active liming of soils, as this affects the yield and quality of crops.

Aleksandr Lukashenko drew attention of the Deputy Prime Minister, Leonid Zayats, to the issue. “Reclamation and liming of soils is our bread, it is a government task. Do not buy tractors for agricultural enterprises and farms, but focus on soil fertility: it is the number one issue for us, for the state,” he stressed.
