Lukashenko: no sanctions can and should affect the level of medical care

Last year, twenty-nine healthcare facilities were put into operation in Belarus. Inter-district centres have been created and provided with the necessary equipment countrywide; there, diagnostics and treatment are not worse than in Minsk clinics. In addition, innovations are being introduced, and Aleksandr Lukashenko said more during his Address to the Belarusian People and Parliament.

“No sanctions can and should affect the level of our medical care. Therefore, the production of Belarusian medicines is under special control. Their share needs to be constantly increased, and the range is to be expanded. The same requirements are placed on domestic technological innovations and equipment," the Head of State stressed.

The President recalled that he had recently visited China and Iran, where medicine is well developed. “We saw there the most modern medicines which are sold at a very low price. I am waiting for us to put things in order in our country. Some medicines are ten times cheaper in Iran than in Belarus. If they are brought in a car, for example, then they will be seven times cheaper. What is the reason? Moreover, both China and Iran are coming to us, they are ready to locate their medical production facilities in our country. So we simply need to take advantage of this – and work,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.
